Biography

John Alden was born on April 3, 1770, in Stafford, Connecticut to Jonathan Alden and his wife, Mary Merrill. He married Tabitha Mcnitt in Ashfield, Massachusetts. They had five children in 15 years. He died on September 8, 1813, in Hanover, New York, at the age of 43, and was buried in Sheridan, New York.
