Biography

James was born in about 1855. He was the son of Charles Alder and Ann Unknown.

At the age of 22 he married 21 year old Agnes Huntley Johnson on 10 April 1878 in House of Mr. Johnson, Umgeni, Inanda, Natal, South Africa. His occupation was recorded as Builder.^[1]

They had at least six children:

He died in 1916 at the age of 62. Cause of Death: Bronchial Astham, Intestinal Catarrh, Senile Debility, Syncope.^[2]
