Biography

Early Life

Martha was born in February 17, 1887 in Virginia, Cass, Illlinois. She was the daughter of John Alder and Anna Zellweger.

Family

She married Walter Miller October 25, 1928, in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, United States. He was 31 and 11 months and she 41 and 8 months. She was a resident of Oregon City, Oregon.^[1] He died in 1936.^[2] There are no known children of this couple.

Residence

On June 6, 1900, she was enumerated at the age of 13 listed under the name Myrtle, living in the home of her father Charles and step mother Synne (Sine). in Fairbury, Jefferson, Nebraska, United States.^[3]

On April 8, 1930, Martha was enumerated at the age of 38 in the home of her husband, Walter Miller (34) in Oregon City, Clackamas, Oregon. They had been married for two years.^[4]

In 1940, she was enumerated at the age of 53 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, United States. She was listed as a widow.^[5]

On September 13, 1943, she was the informant on her brother John's death certificate. She listed her address as 5208 Lexington Drive, Hollywood, California.^[6]

In 1965, she was listed in the obituary of her sister, Emma Alder Rapp as living in Portland, Oregon.^[7]

Death

She passed away on July 2, 1965 at the age of 78 at the Belmont Convelescent Hospital, 4914 SE Belmont, Multnomah County, Oregon from uremia caused by chronic glomerulonephritis due to atherosclerosis. Her residence was listed as 4519 NE Hoyt. Her occupation was registered nurse. ^[8][9][10]
