Biography

William Alderson (~1791-1850) was a sawyer.

His first marriage was to Jane likely before 1816. They appear to have had 2 children in Kendal, Westmorland (Thomas, 1816 ^[1] & James Pearce, 1818) ^[2] before moving to Liverpool where they added Margaret 1820, ^[3] William 1823. ^[4]

His children were grown (or dead) by 1841 when he and Jane were shown in Boad Street, Manchester ^[5] but they must have returned to Liverpool at some point as his wife Jane died in 1846.

He remarried a younger woman, Sarah Denver, on the 30 September 1847 at St Peter's, Liverpool. ^[6] They did not appear to have any children together and he died in 1850 in Liverpool. ^[7]

(Sarah, his widow, would go on to marry her stepson Thomas, himself widowed, 2 years later)
