Research Notes

When I entered the exact date of birth based on the FindAGrave entry, the computer warned that Amanda's date of birth was 4 months earlier than that of her sister Alma which is impossible. Alma's death certificate (see image attached to Alma's profile) says she was born 13 Feb 1844 but her gravestone shows her date of birth 13 Feb 1843. Amanda's death certificate shows she was born 23 Oct 1842 (see image of death certificate attached to profile) but the 1850 census [2] (see image attached to profile) shows her to be 9 years old; my guess is the census was done earlier in 1850 and her month of birth was October, so my guess is her year of birth is no later than 1841. According to her marriage to Reed, her year of birth was estimated to be 1841. I did change the year of birth to 1841 based on all this information but this can be changed if other evidence of an accurate date of birth is found.Lansing-1003 00:29, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
