Biography

Isaac was born in 1807. He is the son of Simeon Aldrich and Penelope Gaines.

Note that his father Simeon is listed but his mother is not. There may have been more than one Simeon Aldrich in Guilford at that time as one apparently was born in 1776 and may have married a Lucinda Clark.

Isaac Terry's first wife, born about 1811 in New York per their 1850 census was named Lavina. In the 1860 census she did not appear and he re-married to Mary Wilkins in 1861, where she appeared with their daughter Delight on the 1870 census.

Isaac had an 1837 land grant in Indiana and appeared there on the 1840 census but it is not certain when and where he married Lavina. Most likely in or around Guilford as their first child Penelope was born there and living in Indiana by 1839 when Nathan was born there.
