Frances was born in 1922, the daughter of Ransom E. Aldrich and Frances Gates Withers. ^{[1] [2]}

She married in 1943 to William Sledge Taylor, Jr. and they had children: ^{[3] [4]}

1. Virginia Gates, b. 1944
2. William Sledge III, b. 1953

Frances and William appear to have divorced before 1983 when William married second to Virginia Russell.

Frances passed away in 2002 ^[5] and was buried at Friendship Cemetery in Como, Panola County, Mississippi. ^[6]

Published in the The Panolian, Batesville, Mississippi, 30 Apr 2002:

"Frances Aldrich Taylor, 79, of Como, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of a stroke.

"Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Como United Methodist Church. Rev. Norman Holliday officiated the service. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

"Taylor, daughter of the late Ransom E. and Frances Withers Aldrich, was born December 17, 1922, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a housewife and a member of Como United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Como Study Club and the Como Garden Club.

"Survivors include her husband, W. S. Taylor, Jr. of Como; a daughter, Ginny Drash of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a son, Sledge Taylor, III of Como; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

"Memorials may be made to the Como United Methodist Church, Como, Mississippi 38619."
