Robert was born in 1851 in Penkridge, Staffordshire,[1][2] and grew up there with his brothers and sisters in the home of his parents, William and Ann.[3][4]
In 1874 Robert married Elizabeth Hiscox in Pelsall, Staffordshire,[5] and raised a family in the Cannock area of Staffordshire, where Robert worked as a colliery engineman.[6][7][8][9] Robert died in 1925.[10]
