Biography

Simpson Alexander was born in South Carolina.

Simpson R. ("S.R.") Alexander[1] was the son of Randolph Alexander and Lydia Simpson Jackson. He married Delilah M. Jackson, his second cousin (they shared a great-grandfather, Ralph Jackson). S.R. was a slave holder. In 1850 and 1860, he was holding people enslaved in Weakley County, Tennessee.
