Biography
Catherine (Alexander) Gardner was born on the 19th of November 1824 in Seneca, Ontario, New York. She was the ninth of the twelve children born to Theophilus Alexander and Mary Alice (Eisenhauer) (Alexander) Carver. Catherine was only seven when her father died. As an heir she was listed as a defendant the following year in the case Alexander vs. Grover in regarding property that had belonged to her father.[1] Guardianship of Catherine, as well as William and Lydia, was given to John S Gardner in 1839.[1]
Catherine married Elisha T Gardner on the 13th of August 1840 in Sandusky County, Ohio. [2][3]
