As of the 1910 and the 1920 censuses Sam continued to live and farm with his family in Calhoun Township. [3][4]
On 14 August 1925 Sam married Louie Mae Falkner in Columbia County, Arkansas. [5]
As of the 1930 Census Sam had left the farm and moved a few miles west to Magnolia, still in Columbia County, Arkansas where he was employed as a salesman of wholesale hats. He and Louie Maye had had two children. [6]

Sam died on 15 February 1981 and was buried in the Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery, Magnolia, Columbia County, Arkansas.[1]
