Biography
John was born about 1833. He was the son of David Alexander and Catherine Neely.
John emigrated from Ireland about 1858 and settled in Pennsylvania. He was employed as a Watchman.
He married Mary McKelvey in Ashland, Schuylkill, Pennsylvania, USA on 13 October 1870 at the North Parish Episcopal Church. Seven children were born in their marriage, John, Martha, Isabella (Bella), Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, James A and William Stuart.
Mary (McKelvey) died in 1908 aged about 68.
John Alexander, Widower, passed away in 1910 aged about 78. He is buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Centralia, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. Informant of his death was his daughter Bella.
