Biography

George Alexander is a part of US Black heritage.

George W. Alexander was born about 1850 in Washington, DC. He was the son of George Alexander and Martha Magruder.^[1]

He married Rachel Josephine Cook on 10 October 1877 in Washington, DC.^[2] In 1880 they were living in Washington with their young son, George Alexander J.^[3] Their second child, Gladys, was also born in Washington.

In 1900 George and Rachel were living in Helena, Montana. George was a janitor, his son was an electrician.^[4] In 1910 George was still a janitor in a bank building in Helena.^[5]

In 1920 he was living with his son in Helena.^[6]

He died on 29 September 1928 in St. Paul, Minnesota.^[7][1][8]
