Born to the Alexander family in 1819 or prior, I can not find any info on the father of the 2 Alexander brothers who joined the 27th Missouri Mounted Infantry. THEY are not from the same family.
I believe the poster is correct that Benjamin F. was the son of John Alexander and Mary "Polly" Ferguson, born in NC and married in Lincoln Co, NC, 3 September 1812 with the bond signed by his father, John Alexander Sr, and her father, Moses Ferguson. I did a rather thorough investigation of Patrick Haron Alexander's family for my Alexander history and found no mention of Benjamin Alexander as one of Patrick's brothers from William's marriage to Martha Job(e) or from his earlier marriage to Hettie (probably Esther) Hinton. I have much, much data backed up by records and will share with anyone thinking he or she is a relative. The data, including YDNA-test data, go all the way back to James and Ann, born probably shortly after 1700. by: John Alexander
