Note NI3898[hjackwells3--John MacAlister Alexander.FTW]Jody Think about the facts that we have about our James ALEXANDER:

Born 18 Apr 1749.

Born in Pennsylvania>3) Joined the Rev War Army December 1776 in Chester County, Pennsyvla nia.

He had a brother, John, who joined the Army with him.

Was in the Battle of Trenton and was discharged in January 1777.

He was a weaver. He settled in Lincoln (and then Iredell) County, North Carolina in 1788. He fought in several battles in North Carolina - one of them under the command of his brother, John. Captain John ALEXANDER died before he could apply for a pension.

The best candidate for this John would be the fellow in next door Lincoln County (where our James spent his first year in North Carolina) whose firs t wife was a THOMSON. This is Lorna Dunklee's line. If you go to GenForum you can find some information about him. Unfortunate lyhe didn't leave much of a paper trail. He died in 1799.
