Biography

Jabez was born in Massachusetts in 1755. He was the son of Thomas Alexander and Phebe Parker. Jabez fought in the Revolutionary War for which he later received a pension. In 1777 Thomas married Lois Pool and together they were parents of eleven children. About 1786 they moved to Acworth, New Hampshire where they were the second settlers on Gates Hill. After Lois’s death Jabez second married Elizabeth Way and together they were parents of five children. Jabez lived in Acworth, later in Lempster, New Hampshire where he passed away in 1843 at age 87.
