Research Notes

I could not find a record of birth for James in the baptisms of Immaculate Conception RC Church at Sandy Point, which is problematic because we cannot confirm birth through a verifiable record. His age was not given at time of marriage but identifies him as a son of John and Susan. In 1935 Census he is listed as 61 and in 1945 Census he is 71, which would mean birth year of 1874. The only answer I have for not finding him in the records of Sandy Point is that he was born and baptized elsewhere, which is possible. In some online family trees, he is born in 1872. For the transcribed headstones from Shallop Cove Cemetery his birth date is specified as April 22, 1872. Perhaps the people who buried him and have him in a family tree also have the death certificate with his birth date. We cannot access his death online either. If he was not born in 1872, then he was probably born between 1872 and 1874. This would likely bring him into more accurate range of birth year than 1866, which was listed for this profile previously.
