Biography

Oliver Alford was born around 1858, in Michigan, United States, [1] and died on 30 December 1930, at Pittsfield, Washtenaw, Michigan, United States, at around 72 years old. [2] He died of heart disease. [3]

He was the son of Ambrose Allen Alford (abt 1833-1910) & Orra Lent (abt 1836-abt 1890) [1] Orra's first name is sometimes spelled Ora, depending on the document. Her last name is given in her daughter Ella's marriage certificate. [4]

Ambrose Alford (father) was married twice. According to the 1870 & 1880 censuses he had nine children with his first wife [5] [6] and two (the last in the list) with the second, so there were 11 children in the family.

Oliver is married in his death certificate and his wife's name is Mary. [3] A marriage certificate was not located for him, but a marriage certificate for Josephine Alford, born in 1901, to Oliver Alford and Mary Perrin, is possibly related to him. Josephine was born where he died, at Pittsfield, Washtenaw, Michigan, United States, which is a connection. [7] He would have been 43 when she was born, in 1901. No other documents were found, except for Mary's death certificate. Her parents are named, William Perrin and Mary E Moore, but her husband is not. However, her death took place, as with Oliver, in Pittsfield. [8] Mary Perrin and Josephine Alford have not been included in WikiTree at this time. The names are unfortunately commonplace and the only real connection is Pittsfield, which was Oliver and Mary Perrin's death place, and Josephine Alford's birth place.
