Biography

Age 93, daughter of the late Leon F. and Bertha Phillips Alford. She lived most of her life in North East before moving to Erie in 1994.

She worked at General Electric Co. in Erie for nine years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North East. She was active in the Live Wire Club. She enjoyed bingo and arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, N. Keith Beatty, in 1994; a son, Ellsworth Zimmerly; and two sisters, Beatrice Breck and Olive Geraci.

Survivors include a son, Francis S. Schweitzer and his wife, Jamie, of Palmdale, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Zimmerly of Erie; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Grahamville Cemetery.
