Bynum Alford was born on 31 Dec 1787 in Wilkes, Georgia, USA as the fourth child of Isham Alford Sr and Anne Ferrell . He had four siblings, namely: Britton Washington Sr. , Burtis, Archibald Baldy , and Anna Ferrell. He died in 1851 in De Kalb, Georgia, USA.

Bynum Alford served in the military between 1812-1815 in United States (Rifleman in Alexander's Battalion). He lived in District 563, DeKalb, Georgia, United States in 1840.   7. Bynum Alford, born May 25, 1825, Georgia. Twin to Nancy Alford, born May 25, 1825.
  8. Nancy E. Alford Goddard, born May 25, 1825 and married Clement Goddard.
  9. Sarah B. Alford Morris, born Dec 11, 1827 and died Jan 17, 1901, Lithonia, DeKalb Co., Ga.. She married Henry H. Bolton and then James A. Morris.
  10. John T. Alford, born Mar 7, 1831 and died in Nov. 23, 1915. He married Lucy Ann Smith.
