John A. Alford was born at sea when his family emigrated from Ireland.

  • Fact: http://familysearch.org/v1/LifeSketch “Ruth Eckles, the youngest and only daughter of Arthur Eckles who married, was born in the central part of Beaver Co., Pa., on Aug. 15, 1792, and passed away on Oct. 30, 1865, in Lawrence Co., Pa. Burial was in the U. P. Church cemetery, about six miles southeast of New Castle. In 1810 she was united in marriage with John Alford … [who] was born July 18, 1790, and passed away on June 2, 1877.
