When Effie J. Alfrey was born on May 9, 1882, in Kentucky, her father, William, was 26, and her mother, Melvina, was 22. She had four sons and one daughter with John Rogers. She died on February 25, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 74, and was buried there.
