Biography
James Alger was born in Bermondsey, Surrey in 1862, he was the son of George Alger and Sarah Ann Messenger [1]
George and Sarah Ann had their first three children, George William, James and Elizabeth baptised together on 3 December 1865 at Christchurch Bermondsey. George William was born on 1 October 1860, James was born 29 August 1862 and Elizabeth was born 25 October 1864. [2]. George was shown as a Boot and Shoe maker of 22 Bermondsey Wall.
