Margaret was born in 1793 in Scotland. She married James H. Denison. She died at age 94 in Ohio. Margaret is buried in Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Sterling, Madison, Ohio. [1]
Margaret “Peggy” Alkire married James Denison on 11 February 1819 in Madison County, Ohio. John F. Smith, Justice of the Peace officiated. [2]
In 1850, Margaret was 56, and living in Pleasant Township, Madison, Ohio. The household included Margaret, 56, b. Kentucky (error?) (presumably a widow); and her three children, all born in Ohio: William, 21, a farmer; Abraham, 15, a farmer; and Rebecca J, labeled “insane.” On a nearby farm lived Margaret’s son, James M. Denison, 23, a farmer, and his wife (unintelligible), 19; both born in Ohio; on yet another neighboring farm lived Margaret’s son, Griffin Denison, 31, a farmer; his wife Catharine, 28, born in Virginia; and their son, John H., 7, in school.
