Biography

"The Allain of New Brunswick descend from Louis Allain, eldest son of Pierre, who married Anne Léger, daughter of Jacques Léger and Anne Amirault, in Beaubassin, June 24, 1748."[1]

Louis Allain was born 16 May 1722 and was baptized the same day at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. He was the son of Pierre Allain and Marguerite LeBlanc. His godparents were Charles Leblanc and Elisabeth Leblanc.[2][3][4]

He married Anne Léger, daughter of Jacque Leger and Anne Arsenaut 24 June 1748 at Beaubassin in the presence of Charles Heon and Jean Damio.[5][6][7]

Location of the family during the Great Upheaval:

  • 1755 Petcoudiac [8]
  • 1756-1757 Camp d'Espérance, Miramichi [9][10]
  • 1760 Restigouche [11]
  • 1761 Caraquet [12]
  • 1763 Fort Beauséjour [13]

He passed away before 1780 since Anne remarried around that date.[14]
