Philomene Allaire was born July 23, 1840 at St-Ours and she was baptized there the next day. [1] She was the daughter of Francois Allaire and Victoire Peloquin . [2]
Philomene Allaire married Jean Baptiste on July 5, 1858 at St-Jude. [3] He was the third child of eight and the first son of four for Jean Baptiste Labossiere and Genevieve Fredet.
Jean Baptiste and Philomene Allaire had seven children, all girls and all born at St-Jude. At least four are known to have married. One died at four years old and two others died as young adults and appear to be single.
In the 1861Canada census, Philomene Allaire and Jean Baptiste Labossiere do not have any children yet and they are living at St-Jude with Jean Baptiste's father, also a Jean Baptiste and his second wife, Charlotte Meunier. The household also has several of Jean Baptiste's (Jr.) siblings: Marie, 10; Emelie, 7; Joseph, 4 and Philomene, 21 and her husband, Narcisse Deguire. [4] It is interesting to note that both couples: Philomene LaBossiere and Narcisse Deguire and Jean Baptite LaBossiere and Philomene Allaire were married in mid 1858 or three years before the 1861 census and both couples do not yet have any children. In fact, both couples did not have their first known child until 1863, almost five years after their respective marriages.

Jean Baptiste and Philomene Allaire are next found in the 1881 Canada census at St-Jude with five of their children: Marie, 18; Rosanna, 16; Philomene, 13; Delia, 4 and Emilia, 3. [6] No census date in sheet. One child has died by this time in 1877.
Jean Baptiste and Philomene Allaire are next found in the 1891 Canada census at St-Jude with four of their children: Philomene, 22; Delia, 15; Emilia, 13 and Reginia, 7. [7] Census date: April 15, 1891. A second child has died at 24 years old in 1890.

Philomene Allaire died April 29, 1920 at St-Jude and she was buried there May 1, 1920. She was 79 years old. Jean Baptiste Labossiere died at St-Jude on Oct. 8, 1925 at the age of 86 years and he was buried there two days later.
