Biography

Jean Baptiste Aller (or Alaire) was born, roughly estimated, about 1785. He was the son of Francois Aller and Louise Aller.

Jean married Marie Antoirick, daughter of Pierre Antoirick and Marie Laplante, on 29 May 1809 in Frédéricton (Ste-Anne).[1] Jean was a soldier. They had two daughters, both born in Québec:

  1. Elisabeth Dallaire (1813–before 1891)
  2. Rosalie Agathe Allaire (1816–1889)

Jean was noted as being deceased at the 1836 marriage of his daughter Elizabeth Allaire.[2] He was a farmer. Elizabeth's marriage rehablitation record also states that Jean lived in Témiscouata.[3][4]

Allaire-667 and Allaire-71 appear to represent the same person because: Jean Allaire's daughter Rosalie's baptism shows her parents as Jean Alaire & Marie Antoirique, and Rosalie's marriage shows her parents as Jean Baptiste Alaire & Marie Moqué. (Moqué is an unusual spelling, but her age in her burial record matches her date of birth in her baptism, so her mother is most likely Marie Antoirick, not McKay)
