The Saint-Joachim-de-Châteauguay parish record identifies his father by his dit name, Goguet: "Pierre né du matin du legitime mariage de François Goguet laboureur et de Marguerite Jeandron. Le Parrain Pierre Gagnier et la marrain Claire [Mibare?][1]
Pierre married Marie Auger 4 August 1828 Saint-Joachim-de-Châteauguay. The parish entry notes that the marriage was between "Pierre Allard journalier fils majeur de François Allard et de Marguerite Gendron domicilié en cette paroisse d'une part, et Marie Auger fille mineure de Gaspard Auger journalier et de Susanne Poineau consentant aussi domicilié en cette paroisse d'autre part; . . . . en présence de Joachim Poineau cousin, Charles Crépin ami; Joseph Auger père, Jean Baptiste Hallen ami de l'épouse."[2]
