Biography

James Samuel ALLCHIN was born in 1884 in Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia[1]. His parents were Edward Allchin and Christina Glover.

Minnie Beatrice WILSON and James Samuel ALLCHIN were married on 27 August 1907 in Victoria[2].

ALLCHIN V. ALLCHIN.
James Samuel Allchin, aged 29 years of age, of Poowong, sawmiller and contractor, sought divorce from Minnie Beatrice Allchin, aged 27 years, of Walwa, on the ground of desertion. The marriage took place on August 27, 1907, and there was one child. Petitioner's case was that his wife had refused to live with him. In 1910 she went to Walwa on a visit to her father, and had since refused to return to him. Mr. Manchester appeared for the petitioner. A decree nisi was granted.

Christina Amelia BUICK and James Samuel ALLCHIN were married on 26 February 1916 at the Methodist Church, St. Kilda, Victoria[4].

ALLCHIN—BUICK.—On the 26th February, at the Methodist Church, St. Kilda, by the Rev. F. Vance, James Samuel, the third son of Mrs. S. C. Allchin, of Poowong, to Christina Amelia, eldest daughter of John Buick, of 19 Foster street, St. Kilda, and the late Mary Jane Buick, late of High street, St. Kilda.

He passed away on 14 June 1944 in Brighton, Victoria, Australia[6] and was buried at the Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale[7].
