James Samuel ALLCHIN was born in 1884 in Cranbourne, Victoria, Australia^[1]. His parents were Edward Allchin and Christina Glover.

James Samuel Allchin, aged 29 years of age, of Poowong, sawmiller and contractor, sought divorce from Minnie Beatrice Allchin, aged 27 years, of Walwa, on the ground of desertion. The marriage took place on August 27, 1907, and there was one child. Petitioner's case was that his wife had refused to live with him. In 1910 she went to Walwa on a visit to her father, and had since refused to return to him. Mr. Manchester appeared for the petitioner. A decree nisi was granted.

Christina Amelia BUICK and James Samuel ALLCHIN were married on 26 February 1916 at the Methodist Church, St. Kilda, Victoria^[4].

He passed away on 14 June 1944 in Brighton, Victoria, Australia^[6] and was buried at the Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Springvale^[7].
