Annie was born on 6 Mar 1887 in Port Broughton in the mid north of South Australia.
[1][2][3]
She is the first of eleven children born to Henry Allchurch and Lucy Gray.
On 15 Mar 1911 Annie married Andrew Frank Young in Ward's Hill Methodist Church, South Australia
(where's Ward's Hill - there only seems to be a homestead on the map?)[4][5]
On 6th January 1950, Annie's husband Andrew died in Pinnaroo.
In February 1951, Annie and Janet moved from Pinnaroo to Fullerton, a suburb of Adelaide. A very warm send-off was given to them by their fellow Methodist Church members.
[6][7]
Annie died on 25 Jan 1970 in Kingswood, Adelaide, and was buried with her husband Andrew in Pinnaroo Cemetery.

MRS. A. YOUNG FAREWELLED
FINE TRIBUTE BY LARGE GATHERING.
The Pinnaroo Methodist Church was filled on Sunday, following evening
service, when Mrs. Young and daughter, Janet, were farewelled prior to
their departure from the district. Over a long period of years Methodism
in particular, and the district generally, have, benefitted by the activities of
the Young Family. Led by the esteemed late Mr. Andrew Young, the family
has been among the outstanding families in this district. With the departure
of Mrs. Young and daughters the district will suffer a distinct loss, but in
the words of the Rev. Des. Christesen the link will never be broken”.
The work of the Young family will remain a memorial which will survive the
passage of time. Residents join wholeheartedly in wishing, Mrs. Young and
family a very happy future.
In opening his remarks Rev. Des. Christesen' (chairman) asked speakers
to observe a note of happiness in paying tribute to the guests, and said they
had assembled to wish them well and thank them for their outstanding
co-operation at all times. Mr. Christesen read a letter of farewell from Mr.
and Mrs. W. Vening.
The following-items, arranged by Misses F. and G. Bone, were greatly
appreciated: vocal duet, Mrs. H. Bone and Mrs. K. Edwards; instrumental,
Valmai Casson (violin) and Robin Casson (piano accordion); solo, Mrs. F.
Docking; quartette, Mrs. G. Johnson, Miss G. Bone, Mr. N. Badman and
Mr. G. Johnson.
Mr. S. Angel (senior circuit steward), speaking on behalf of officers and
members of the Methodist Church, said he felt that on an occasion such as
this no speech was necessary. All knew of the outstanding qualities of
the guests. However, they could not let the opportunity pass of saying
how much they appreciated their interest and support. Methodism has
benefited, not only in Pinnaroo, but overseas where members of the
Young family were carrying on Mission work. Much of the credit was due to
Mrs. Young’s guiding influence. Each member of the family had been a
stalwart of the Church, and Mrs. Young had been a very active member,
serving as Communion Steward for a number of years. Janet had also
performed good work for the Church and both deserved special thanks
for their keen interest and support. They would leave behind many good
friends, who join in wishing them God’s richest blessing.
The Ladies’ Church Aid was represented by Mrs. F. Johnston
(Vice-President). The speaker said Mrs. Young had been a member of the
Aid for more than 25 years and had been a wonderful worker. Mrs. Young
came to Parilla Well 34 years ago. After moving into Pinnaroo she (the speaker)
found them to be splendid neighbors. In times of sickness Mrs. Young
was wonderful and would do anything in her power to help. The family were
noted for their kindness. Mrs. Johnston presented to Mrs. Young an
illuminated address suitably framed and signed, and a shoulder spray.
The WAOM was represented by Mrs. F. Docking who said Mrs. Young often
came forward with suggestions to help the Overseas Missions. They
appreciated very much her years of service to the Auxiliary and the Church.
Mr. N. Badman referred to Janet Young’s work in the Sunday School and
choir. Janet had grown up in the Sunday School and proved herself a
worthy person to hold office. She had proved a very loyal and sincere
member of the school and the choir. The hospitality of the Young family
was widely known and appreciated. The speaker also expressed thanks
on behalf of the Show Society, claiming that outstanding support had
been received from the Young family as exhibitors.
The Vice-Director of the Girls’ Comradeship, Mrs. G. Johnson, wished Janet
many years of hap piness in the Comrades in her new district, and added
that Mrs. Young had also helped the Comrades, mainly in providing suppers.
The Young family had been the prime movers in anything to help the Church
and they would be sorely missed. A spray was handed to Janet by the speaker.
Mr. R. Correll, speaking on behalf of the Area School, said the amount of
work put into the school by the late Mr. Young and his family would always
remain a memorial to them. He thanked them for many personal favours,
and wished Janet a happy future on behalf of the Pinnaroo Tennis Club.
Mrs. C. Fischer made special mention of the splendid flowers provided for
the Church by the Young family and said they will miss them very much.
Mrs. H. Bone farewelled Mrs. Young on behalf of CWA mem bers. Mrs.
Young had been a foundation member and for years had given the branch
excellent service. They wished her joy in her new home.
Mr. J. Symonds said the fine gathering was attribute to the guests. He did
not think there was a more esteemed family in this district and they had
been an inspiration to himself and others.
Miss E. Colwill paid tribute to Mrs. Young for her work as a member of
the Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary and said she frequently took charge of
hospital sewing, They appreciated her help very much.
Mr. Christesen handed Mrs. Young and Janet a cheque as a small token
of appreciation and good wishes from those present and the district.
He said, "the link of the chain which binds you to us and us to you will
never be broken.”
Mrs. Young and Janet briefly but feelingly, responded.
The singing of Blest Be The Ties That Bind and the Benediction closed
the farewell Supper was served in the Sunday School hall. http://trove.nla.gov.au
