IMPRESSED BY BEAUTY OF QUEEN ELIZABETH
Vivid Recollections Of Trip Abroad
By Mrs. S. Symonds
"Queen Elizabeth is a most beautiful person and Princess Margaret is really lovely," said Mrs.
Sadie Synionds yesterday in comment ing on her recent trip abroad.
Mrs. Symonds returned on the Strathaird at the week-end, accompanied by Miss Ivy Wride,
of Adelaide. The third member of the party, Miss Alva Mclnerney, will return on the Orontes
next month.
Moving among the guests at the Coronation Garden Party at Buckingham Palace Mrs.
Symonds saw the Queen, and all the members of the Royal Family, who had appeared
unaffectedly charming. It was a most colorful affair, with practically every nation
represented, many of the guests being in national costume.
Mrs. Symonds said that with Misses Mclnerney and Wride she was in her seat in a stand in
the Mall at 6 a.m. on Coronation Day, and witnessed the processions to and from
Westminster Abbey. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Benn (Mr. Benn formerly a well-known Piriean)
were seated nearby. They left their seals at 4.30 p.m., when the pageant was over.
