Biography

PARENTS? What evidence (real proof, not just "I found it in an online tree" that William Allen and Hannah Pepper were his parents?
WIFE - Elijah was listed as the husband of Christina Banta in the Frisian Family - Banta history.
The Banta family has been well researched and much has been written about them. In 1893, a book titled "A Frisian Family, The Banta Genealogy" was written by Theodore M. Banta, New York that detailed the first seven generations in North America. The records of the Reformed Dutch Church provided many records, and many family bibles were located and used. "The Frisian Family" can be found on Google Books. The book gives the ancestry of Christina Banta going back to the immigrant, Epke Jacobs Banta, who sailed from the Netherlands in 1659, and resided in New Jersey. Christina was listed among the children of Albert and Styntie (Montfort) Banta. The following is from that book. "Christina married Elijah Allen. Had a son, Captain David Allen, who was Sheriff of Johnson County Indiana and died in the Mexican War."
