Biography

She was baptised on 9 March 1881 at Carlow.[1] She was also known as Lillian. At the time of the 1901 Census she was living with her widowed mother, and her three siblings, at 2 Wave Crescent, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. She was employed as a clerk. (She was not listed with her family in the 1911 Census. However her mother is shown as having four living children.) On 19 Sep 1905 she was married, by licence, to William Anderton, a widower, from Lancashire.[4] William had spent his working life in the manufacture and sale of glass products. They had one child, a daughter. Sometime after the death of her husband, in 1930, she moved to Australia. In 1934 she was living at High Street, Maclean in New South Wales. Her occupation was described as home duties. She was living with Norman Henry Anderton, a linesman.[5] ^[1]
