Mary Brownson Allen.
Birth: 1775
Andover
Essex County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: Aug. 28, 1852
Grafton
Ontario, Canada
Daughter of Ethan Allen and Mary Bronson/Brownson.[1] After Ethan's death his second wife Frances wrote Mary Ann of his death to prevent her from inheriting any of her fathers 100,000 plus acres of land.
Col James Rogers and Ethan Allen were co-conspirators of the Vermont Negotiations and James and Mary met many times while their fathers were conspiring.
A cousin also wrote me telling me about her grandson, James Harrison Rogers donating Ethan Allen's gun to the River Falls Historical Society claiming his it was handed down from Ethan to his grandmother Mary Ann who asserted Ethan was her father.
The Ethan Allen Homestead believes Fanny Allen's lie but this grave and Ethan's grave hold the DNA evidance.

However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Shouldn't a merge of Allen-13 and Allen-18684 be reconsidered? They are obviously the same person, with all the birth ad death data, as well as the spouse, being the same. Address the issue of parentage in the bio?

Allen-13 and Allen-18684 do not represent the same person because: That Mary is the daughter of Ehtan Allen is an extraordinary claim and requires extraordinary evidence. It may be true, but without some evidence it is inappropriate to make such a claim.

Allen-18684 and Allen-13 do not represent the same person because: Thank you for your suggestion. As I wrote yesterday, while it would be great if Mary Rogers really was the daughter of Ethan Allen, and I believe that she may have been, I do not see any clear evidence that this is so. If you have any good evidence for this connection, please let me know.

You show Mary Allen marrying Asaph Spencer. His first wife was Mary Woodruff; his second Betsy Roberts (my ancestor). What evidence do you have that he married Mary Allen? Also, Asaph was not born until 1789/1790 - Mary Allen was old enough to have been his mother.
