Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Samuel Allen, was born on 4 September 1712 [1] in Connecticut. [2]
Elizabeth married Samuel Dewey on 6 March [3] 1732 [2][3] at Lebanon, [3] Connecticut Colony. She gave birth to six of their children, all born in Lebanon, Connecticut:
Research on Elizabeth's purported father, Samuel Allen, says she was born in Westerly, Kings County, Rhode Island. However, her birth is recorded in the vital records of Stonington, Connecticut, a town that borders Westerly and the state line to the east. It could still be the same person, but because "Allen" and "Samuel Allen" are such common names, an additional source would be welcome.
A different person named Elizabeth Allen, born on 14 September 1712, the daughter of Samuel Allen and Lydia Hastings, married Jedidiah Graves.
