1924 – Kentucky, Daviess County, Owensboro The death record for Jess Allen shows is date of birth as 8 Dec 1894 in Ohio County, Kentucky. He lists his occupation as a plumber. His wife is listed as Mrs. Jesse Allen. He lists his father as John H. Allen of Kentucky and his mother as Mary F. Crow of Kentucky. The cause of death was tuberculosis which started about 6 weeks prior to his death. ^[2]

1930 – Kentucky, Daviess County, Owensboro, District 3, 7 Apr 1930 Sheet shows the Stella Allen (42) family. Stella is widowed and is living with her daughter, Stella Marion Allen (6) and her mother Laura Mudd (76). The home is located at 914 West 2nd Street. The home is owned and valued at $4,000. Stella reports to be a seamstress working at home. Laura is not employed. ^[3]

1940 – Kentucky, Daviess County, Owensboro, District 30-5, 14 Apr 1940 Sheet 14A shows Stella Allen (52), a widow, and daughter Marian (16) living together in the home they own. The home is valued at $4,500. Both mother and daughter report to have had 3 years of high school. They report they lived in the same house in 1935. The home is located at 914 West 2nd Street. Stella still reports she is a seamstress working out of her house. ^[4]

1948 – Kentucky, Daviess County, Owensboro The 1948 City Directory shows William J. Greenwell and his wife Marian G. living at 703 Frederica, Apt. 10. William is a party chef at Johnson and Depp. ^[5]

~ His obituary reads” “William Joseph Greenwell, 83, resident of Wimberley, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005. He was born June 30, 1922, in Owensboro to Emmett and Emma (Hildebrand) Greenwell. Bill, a U.S. Army veteran, worked as an electrical engineer for Dupont Industries in Wilmington, Del., for many years. Upon his retirement he moved to Wimberley and was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He served on the Parish Council there and was a Eucharist minister as well. Bill was also known as a life-master bridge player. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian Allen Greenwell; his children, Stephen Greenwell and his wife, Evelyn, of Warminister, Pa., William "Smoky" Greenwell of New Orleans, Michael Greenwell and his wife, Nawassa, of Preston, Mo., Beth Lambert and her husband, Ray, of Mariahville, Maine, Christopher Greenwell and his wife, Grace, of Austin, Anne Collett and her husband, Jim, of Austin, and Laurie Greenwell of Austin. He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Greenwell of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his dogs, Tuppence and Minnie. Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Bill and Marian's residence in Wimberley. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Family friend, Father George Tzanakas was the officiant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley.
