Isaac Allen was born about 1829[1] in Botsford Parish, New Brunswick. He was the son of Benjamin Allen and Phoebe Trenholm.[2] He married his first cousin, once removed, Miranda Allen, on December 31, 1850.[3] They had 7 children.
Following the death of his wife in 1871, Isaac's widowed sister-in-law, Nancy Breen, lived with him and his children and worked as a housekeeper.[4]
Isaac died on July 6, 1898[5] in Cape Spear, NB.[6] He was buried in the Allen Farm Cemetery in Botsford Parish.[7] The monument was later moved to the Upper Cape United Cemetery.[8]
