Isaac Allen was born about 1829
in Botsford Parish, New Brunswick. He was the son of  Benjamin Allen and Phoebe Trenholm. He married his first cousin, once removed,  Miranda Allen, on December 31, 1850. They had 7 children.
Following the death of his wife in 1871, Isaac's widowed sister-in-law,
Nancy Breen, lived with him and his children and worked as a housekeeper.
Isaac died on July 6, 1898
in Cape Spear, NB.  He was buried in the Allen Farm Cemetery in Botsford Parish.  The monument was later moved to the Upper Cape United Cemetery.
