William Allen was born c. 1670/71 York Co. Virginia; and died 15 June, 1713 York, Hampton Parish. [citation needed] This date of birth seems to be based solely on the unsupported statement that he was 6 years old when his father died in 1677.

Note:This William Allen is sometimes confused with another other William Allen of Virginia. There are similarities between these two profiles, same parents, similar dates however they have different spouses attached. There is no evidence to support the parents, dates or spouses in either profile. This William Allen Allen-37 is said to have been born in York Co., Va while the other William Allen Allen-15234 is said to have been born in England, and resided in New Kent Co., VA. More research is needed to resolve these issues.

William Allen is said to be the son of William Allen Sr and wife Judith (unknown) of York Co. and the grandson of John Allen and Janet Rodgers of Glasgow, Scotland.[citation needed] There is no evidence to support this parental relationship.
William Allen Sr died 1677 when his son was only six years old. His mother, Judith re-married William Bayley. When William Allen became of age he filed suit against his mother for land that had belonged to his father, William Sr. and was awarded two thirds of the land, the other third going to the Judith Bayley, widow of William Allen Sr. [citation needed] William (Jr?) was a planter in York Co. Virginia.[citation needed]

Grave Site
The FAG memorial has the birth date and locations, but a different death date in 1713. I've inquired of the FAG contributor about the source of the date used in the FAG memorial.[1] - Jeffery Lee Gentry
Will of William Allen
William filed his will in York Co. In it he stated he was in good health and of sound mind. He died 15 June 1713 at the age of forty two.[citation needed]
His will was proved in September of 1713. He names two sons, four daughters and wife Ann in his will. However,the will does not give the daughters names.[citation needed]
William was born about 1671. He passed away about 1713.
