Harold D. Allen died on May 23, 2003, at his home at Westminster Village. Harold was born on March 8, 1914, in what is now La Verne CA, but moved to Laverne OK with his parents Maggie Lee Dungan Allen and Ira D. Allen a year later. He received his education there, graduating with the class of 1931. He came to Ponca City OK, first working for the WPA, and then was a longtime employee of Midwest Creamery, where he ended his career as Plant Superintendent. In 1968, he moved to Dallas TX where he accepted a position with Oak Farm Dairies, also as a Plant Superintendent. He retired from there at age 65 in 1978 and returned to Ponca City, where he resided until his death. He was a member of Albright United Methodist Church where he had served in many capacities as a church leader, among them a Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and a youth sponsor. He was married to Elizabeth Louise Wright at the Evangelical Church, now Albright United Methodist, on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937.

Survivors include hisdaughters Sara Sue "Susie" Van Marel and Kay Anthony; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother Russell Allen.

His parents; wife; a great grandchild; and sisters Cleatha Holcomb, Leatha Howard, Opal Brown, and Frieda Rives preceded him in death.
