Biography

James married Kitty Swinton in 1914, and had a son James (Harry) Henry Leslie Allen (Nov 19 1914- Jul 16 1940).

He was a private (number 88640) in the New Zealand Training Unit, 46th Reinforcements, E Company when he died of influenza in the great flu epidemic at the Featherston Military Camp in 1918.

CAUSE OF DEATH - disease contracted while training (FLU pandemic)
