1860 Census. Owen was living in Cedar Township, Clark, Arkansas, with his wife, Elizabeth and three of their children. John Smith age 28 from North Carolina was also living them. This Census shows that Elizabeth was 20 and born in North Carolina and Owen was 22 and born in Mississippi. The three children were:
Sam H. Shuffield, age 5 b. AR;
Harriet S. Shuffield, age 3 b. in AR;
John N. Shuffield, age 1 b. in AR [1]
