Biography

Joseph was a Sergeant in Capt. John Wentworth’s company during the French and Indian wars and in Jan. 1761 was listed as being deceased since the last return.[1]

In the New Hampshire Gazette out of Portsmouth were published notices from 11 Dec 1761 until 22 Jan 1762 that all who had claims against the estate of Joseph Allen, late of York were to submit them to Joseph Simpson Jr. and Samuel Sewall, ter., the appointed commissioners.[2]
