Biography
On 1 Jul 1787 the Earl of Mornington concluded a 170 acres agricultural tenancy agreement with James Allen and the lives of his sons William and James. In 1858 that lease came to an end because all the lives in the agreement were dead.[1]
In 1831 he was recorded as being a parliamentary elector for the 1831 Meath Election.[2]
In 1841 James was living with his first wife Elizabeth (surname unknown) and their five daughters, Susanna, Anne, Jane Sarah and Fannie (and his younger brother William John) at Ballinrigg, Laracor, Co.Meath.[3]
On 19 Feb 1844 he married, secondly, Elizabeth Christian at Rathmolyon, County Meath.[4]
In 1854 Griffith's Valuation recorded James as being the occupier of a house, offices and 26 acres of land at Ballinrigg, Laracor; 5 acres of land at Dangan, Laracor and a house, offices and four acres of land at Issacstown, Laracor. [5]
James died at Ballinrigg, Laracor in 1858.[6]
