Benjamin was born about 1727. It is not known where he was born. The first known record: he was taxed in Bedford Co. Pennsylvania in 1772, the part of Bedford that is now Fayette Co. Pennsylvania.
His wife's name was Sarah. He is thought to have married in the mid 1700's Sarah Powell. They lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Nelson Co., (later Hardin Co.) Kentucky by 1793.
On 20 July 1816, his heirs, Thomas Allen, Benjamin Allen, William Allen, John Allen, Samuel Armstrong who married Susanna Allen, Aaron Wilkerson who married Catherine Allen, all of Hardin County, sold a 322 acre tract in Hardin CO., Kentucky. He is also known to have had a daughter Nancy who married Jacob Shaver about 1780, at her father's home in Pennsylvania.
