Samuel Allen was the son of William and Hannah Unknown. He was born 19 September, 1713  and his will was proven in Cumberland Co. 1774. 
Samuel married Martha Archer, daughter of John and Martha Field.  They lived in Cumberland Co. Samuel also received a land patent in Goochland Co. for 400 acres, and 675 acres in Lunenberg Co.
The son Archer was executor of his fathers will and inherited a large portion of the estate.
