Biography

Martha was born in 1837. She passed away in 1885.

Parents: Alfred Allen 1811 - 1886 and Anna (Womack) Allen 1814 - 1895.

Spouse: Pvt. Enoch Carroll Atnip I 1838 - 1864. Enoch served in the Army of the Confederacy as a Private with the 313th Company, K 8th Tennessee Calvary. Civil War

  • He served in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy (pvt. 313, Co., K 8th TN. Cavalry) and died during the war in a Union federal prison while in the hands of the enemy. Tradition says that he starved to death.
