Biography

"Nettie" was born in in Bethel Township in Branch County, Michigan on 20 Sep 1873. She was the second of five children born to Charles W. Allen and Ellen Avery. When Nettie was 23, she married Frank L. Fitzgerald in the Fall of 1896. They farmed in Livingston County, IL and had two children; Lynn in 1898 and Luella in 1901. Frank and Nettie divorced in 1917 when she was 43 yrs old. She married William L. White in 1918. He passed away in 1928. After Mr. White's death, Nettie moved back to Kalamazoo. In 1931, she was living with her son, Lynn. She married Judson Lyman in 1934. She died of arteriosclerosis in Cassopolis, Michigan on 7 Sep 1936, 13 days before her 63rd birthday. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan with her second husband, William White.
