Archibald was born about 1834 in Essex County, Virginia. The 1870 census record seems to suggest his birthdate might have been in July.
He married Evaline (aka Eveline, Evelyn) Sparr on 12 October 1859 in Nicholas County, Virginia.[1], [2] In 1860, they were living in Fayette, Virginia. They had 2 children, Telitha and an unnamed female child only 1 month old, and Eveline's sister, Martha Sparr, living with them.[3]
1870 United States Federal Census Record of Walton Township, Roane County, West Virginia[4] suggests the following children:
Teletha C. ALLEN (listed as 15 years in 1870, column in 1870 suggests her birthdate occurred in May) - Note: This would have placed her birth about 4 years before her parents were married.
E. C. ALLEN (Gender: Male, listed as 9 years in 1870, column in 1870 suggests his birthdate occurred in April) - Note: 1860 has unnamed female child only 1 month old, but no male child. Could this be mistake on part of the informant of the census?
Henry B. ALLEN (listed as 7 years in 1870, column in 1870 suggests his birthdate occurred in April)
Saml H. ALLEN (listed as 6 years in 1870, column in 1870 suggests a birth month, but it is unreadable)
Mary R. A. ALLEN (listed as 3 years in 1870, column in 1870 suggests her birthdate occurred in March)
They are mentioned in the death records for their daughter, Mary Rebecca Allen Summers, on 11 Sep 1951[5], and their daughter, Talitha Loventia Allen Lynch on 30 Apr 1939 .[6]
He may have passed away in 1870 in Roane County, Virginia.
