Northern Star (Lismore, NSW : 1876 - 1954) Monday 24 May 1948 p 4 Article History of family MRS. D. M. ALLEN. A well known resident of Lismore, Mrs. Daphne Marwood Allen, collapsed and died suddenly at her home at 38 Avondale Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Allen was RA. r.f orra sr\/3 Vior? litra#? w Jf vudo wi llaU JUrCU ill Lismore since childhood.

She was born at Grafton and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mackay. Mr. Mackay came to Lismore as a valuer, but established an auctioneering business and be came one of the best known of the city's businessmen. Mrs. Allen married in Lismore and had lived for many years ,at Avondale Avenue. Two daughters, Mrs. A. W. Axtens and Mrs. H. P. Armstrong, both of Lismore, survive. Mrs. Allen was ouriea in cne iNortn Lismore cemetery yesterday in a family plot containing the remains of her parents and a brother. A service was conducted in St. Andrew's Church of England by the -Rector of Lismore, Rev. Norman Fox. The graveside service was conducted by Rev. J. R. Payne. Pall-bearers at the church were Messrs. A. W. Axtens and H. P. Armstrong (sons-in-law) , John Axtens and Ian Armstrong (grand sons) , Ray Granger and Phil Lomax, and, at the cemetery, Messrs. A. W. Axtens, H. P. Arm- strong, Phil Lomax, A. P. Griffiths. A. E. Savill and S. M. Garrard. Wreaths were carried by Messrs. Cliff Robinson, S. McLeod, Stan Edwards, G. McAndrew, G. Wood ford and W. Tresise. Funeral arrangements were by Will Riley and Son.
