Exactly where and when Elisha Allen was born is unknown. Most family trees indicate that he was born about 1759/60 in possibly Virginia.[1]
Because Elisha was a land owner in Wilkes, Georgia in 1793, he was born no later than 1772.
Revolutionary War
Elisha Allen's rank and service in the Revolutionary War is unknown.
Elisha is recognized as a DAR patriot # A001524. His name is on a granite marker located on the lawn of the Warren County Courthouse in Warrenton, Georgia that was dedicated to the Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Warren County.[2]
Wife & Children
Rebecca was Elisha's widow. Her maiden name is suggested as "Smith". Historical documentation is needed to support her maiden name. Elisha’s DAR record states they were married in 1783. Historical documentation is needed to support that information.

This land purchase may be recorded in Wilkes, Georgia deeds and mortgages, which are unavailable to review outside a FamilySearch library. Other records in Wilkes, Georgia may mention Elisha.
Elisha's middle name of Johnson was found on his 1820 Warren, Georgia census. A middle name or initial is not present on any other historical document posted for Elisha. It's possible that Johnson was written in error.
Elisha's orphans in Roger's district were fortunate drawers in the Georgia Land Lottery of 1827.[33] They drew Lot 155 in the 2nd district, 4th section of Coweta county. Their record is available to review in a FamilySearch library.
